A new health clinic that treats medical and dental needs of low-income patients opened on Wednesday, April 1 in Panorama City, attached to an existing affordable housing complex.
The San Fernando Community Health Center, which has been operating in the Valley for decades, opened a satellite clinic within the Corazon del Valle affordable housing complex at 14533 Lanark St., Suite 120, in Panorama City. That project, which opened in February 2025, added 180 affordable housing units to the neighborhood.
The clinic has two dental and two medical exam rooms. Patients can be treated for dental exams, primary care, pediatric care and for chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular diseases.
As a federally qualified health center, SFCHC serves patients regardless of income, insurance status or ability to pay. Although walk-ins may be available, appointments can be scheduled by calling 818-963-5690.
The satellite healthcare clinic was partially funded by $2 million in state budget funding secured by Rep. Luz Rivas in 2022 while she served in the state Assembly representing the 43rd Assembly District. Rivas is now a member of Congress.
“I’m excited to be welcoming the San Fernando Community Health Center to Panorama City where it will help play a key role in providing quality medical and dental care to those facing housing and economic instability in our community,” said Rivas.
The project brought together nonprofit, community and industry partners with the concept of integrating essential health services within supportive, sustainable housing.
“San Fernando Community Health Center has served as a trusted healthcare home in the San Fernando Valley for a century, and this new clinic extends our mission by bringing services to people who might otherwise face barriers to care,” said SFCHC CEO Audrey Simons.
The clinic is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
